Men's Cross Country Places Fourth in New England Championships

Six Wildcats Place Top 50

HOPKINTON, N.H. – Junior John Murphy (Deerfield, N.H.) led the Wildcats with a 17th-place finish out of 206 as the University of New Hampshire men's cross country team competed in the New England Championships 8K race. The team finished fourth place (138 points) at the Hopkinton Fairgrounds.

RESULTS

"I was really happy with the top 5 spread of 30 seconds - they ran really well as a pack," Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Anna Magle-Haberek said, "We finished ahead of Vermont who beat us in August so we are pleased with that progress. We are looking forward to seeing what this team can do with the remainder of this season."

The Wildcats will return to action on Friday, Oct. 25 when they travel to New Britain Conn. for the CCSU Mini-Meet.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Five Wildcats finished top 100.
- Murphy finished 14th at 25.09.5.
- Senior Kevin Finn (Kennebunk, Maine) finished 23rd at 25:13.00.
- Junior Zachary Hooper (Concord, N.H.) finished 28th at 25:17.44.
- Junior Peyton Ramsey (Plainville, Conn.) finished 31st at 25:25.54
- Junior Samuel Hilts (Concord, N.H.) finished 41st at 25:35.73.
- Junior Joshua Lesniak (Durham, Conn.) finished 50th at 25:47.04
