'Cats Score Season-High 196.150 to Place Runner-Up at EAGL Championship

UNH records highest championship score since 2018 and places second to host Towson
TOWSON, Md. – The UNH gymnastics team scored a season-high 196.150, its highest EAGL Championship score in six years, and placed runner-up to host and back-to-back league champion Towson in the 2024 EAGL Championship, held Saturday at the TU Arena.
The Tigers repeated as champions with an impressive 197.300. The Wildcats defeated George Washington (195.800), Temple (195.600) and LIU (194.975) to conclude their season with a record of 23-13. The 23 victories equaled the 2003 and 2019 teams for the second-most in program history, behind only the 1982 team that recorded 24 wins.
Graduate student Kylie Gorgenyi (North Reading, Mass.), the 2024 EAGL Gymnast of the Year, tied for third place on vault (9.850), earned a share of sixth on uneven bars (9.850), tied for third on floor exercise (9.875) and tied for second in all-around (39.375) to earn EAGL All-Tournament First Team honors in those four events. With her 9.800 on balance beam (T-14th), she was named to the All-Tournament Second Team on that apparatus.
Graduate student Kenadi Brown (Las Vegas, Nev.) set a personal best with a 9.900 on bars to tie for second place and a berth on the All-Tournament First Team. Senior Jenna DeVincenzo (Bethpage, N.Y.) earned All-Tournament First Team on bars (9.875, T-4th) and Second Team on beam (9.825, T-10th).
Career-high beam scores were set by junior Alyssa Beaulieu (Holyoke, Mass./9.900, T-2nd) and freshman Gwen Ockerbloom (Granby, Conn./9.875, T-8th), each of whom was named to the All-Tourney First Team.
Sophomore Leah Moreno (Cary, N.C.) registered All-Tournament Second Team accolades on vault (9.775, T-15th) and bars (9.825, T-10th).
In only her second career all-around performance, senior Sierra Bauman (Wallingford, Conn.) garnered All-Tournament First Team by virtue of her fifth-place finish (38.625).
Sophomore Serena Mullin (Hamden, Conn.) secured All-Tournament Second Team on floor with a 9.800 (T-15th).

The 196.150 score was UNH's highest in an EAGL Championship since it posted a 196.300 on March 24, 2018, also at Towson. The runner-up placement was the Wildcats' best since winning the 2019 title at the Whittemore Center.
