Gorgenyi Ties Highest Score in Program History in Senior Day Triumph

Wildcats defeat SCSU, Fisk and Rhode Island College behind Gorgenyi's 39.475
DURHAM, N.H. – Graduate student Kylie Gorgenyi (North Reading, Mass.) equaled the highest all-around score in UNH gymnastics history (39.475) to power the Wildcats to Sunday afternoon's Senior Day quad-meet victory against Southern Connecticut State, Fisk University and Rhode Island College before 1,336 fans in the Whittemore Center at Key Auto Group Complex.
UNH (15-7, 1-2 EAGL) scored a 195.200, followed by SCSU (193.850), Fisk (190.575) and RIC (189.150).
Gorgenyi shared first place on vault with a career-high-tying 9.900, topped the podium on uneven bars (9.925), won floor exercise (9.900) and became the second Wildcat to ever achieve a 39.475 all-around score for her sixth AA title in UNH's eight meets this season. The record mark was initially set by UNH Hall of Famer and program all-time points leader Amanda Hall on March 6, 2004.
Freshman Gwen Ockerbloom (Granby, Conn.) registered a personal-best 9.850 to win balance beam, giving the Wildcats at least a share of all first-place results.

HOW IT HAPPENED
•Gorgenyi anchored the vault lineup and equaled a season high to share first place with Fisk's Morgan Price. Sophomore Leah Moreno (Cary, N.C.) and senior Maya MacDonald (East Greenbush, N.Y.) each posted a 9.775 to share fourth place with SCSU's Kylie Sitty. The 'Cats totaled a 48.825 on vault.
•Six days after setting a school record on bars (9.975), Gorgenyi's 9.925 bested Price (9.875) and SCSU's Gigi Mastellone (9.850) to earn gold. Senior Jenna DeVincenzo (Bethpage, N.Y.) notched a 9.825 for fourth place, while senior Sierra Bauman (Wallingford, Conn.) and graduate student Kenadi Brown (Las Vegas, Nev.) shared fifth (9.775). UNH's bar score was 49.050.
•Ockerbloom headlined a beam lineup that recorded a 48.250, with Bauman taking second place (9.800) and Gorgenyi sharing third (9.750) with RIC's Emma Tucker and SCSU's Alexa Melanson.
•Gorgenyi closed out her Whittemore Center career in style on floor, edging junior Alyssa Beaulieu (Holyoke, Mass.), RIC's Olivia Keyes and Price, each of whom scored a 9.850. MacDonald and Allen shared fifth (9.825), and the Wildcats' team score of 49.075 was their top event score of the meet.
•Gorgenyi's record-setting all-around outdistanced Price (39.350) and Keyes (38.350).
