Gorgenyi posts career-high on floor exercise and wins all-around as Wildcats place third
DURHAM, N.H. – Graduate student Kylie Gorgenyi (North Reading, Mass.) tallied a personal-best 9.925 floor-exercise score and won the all-around for the fourth time in five meets to help the UNH gymnastics team total a season-high 195.875 in Sunday's Stick It for the Cure quad meet in the Whittemore Center at Key Auto Group Complex.
UNH (8-4, 1-1 EAGL) finished third in the competitive meet that saw Towson (196.300) edge Rutgers (196.200) for the victory. Brown placed fourth with a 194.700.
Gorgenyi earned podium finishes on vault (9.850, T-3rd), uneven bars (9.850, T-3rd), floor (9.925, T-1st) and all-around (39.275, 1st).

Senior Jenna DeVincenzo (Bethpage, N.Y.) received the team's Katie Baldwin Expression Award after scoring a 9.800 on vault and setting a career high on balance beam (9.850).

HOW IT HAPPENED
•Gorgenyi ancored the vault lineup to share third with Towson's Adriana Hoffman. Towson's Elise Tisler won vault with a 9.925, which edged Rutgers' Emily Leese (9.850). DeVincenzo's 9.800 tied for ninth, and the 'Cats totaled a 48.875.
•On bars, Gorgenyi again paced UNH from the No. 6 spot in the lineup with a 9.850 to tie for third place with TU's Grace Vaillancourt and RU's Elia Aird. Avery Balser of Rutgers finished first with a 9.900, one place ahead of Towson's Isabella Minervini (9.875). DeVincenzo posted a 9.800 (T-8th), and UNH amassed a 48.750.
•DeVincenzo and sophomore Serena Mullin (Hamden, Conn.) headlined New Hampshire's beam squad with a 9.850 to share third with Towson's Sarah Girot. Junior Alyssa Beaulieu (Holyoke, Mass.) placed sixth with a season-high 9.825. The Wildcats scored a 48.950.
•UNH scored a 49.300 on floor, with five gymnasts exceeding a 9.825. Gorgenyi's career-best tied Leese and Brown's Julia Bedell for first place, while Mullin shared fifth by virtue of her strong 9.875. Senior Sierra Bauman (Wallingford, Conn.) registered a personal-high 9.850 for a share of eighth, while graduate student Kenadi Brown (Las Vegas, Nev.) and senior Maya MacDonald(East Greenbush, N.Y.) each scored a 9.825 (T-15th).
•Gorgenyi improved her EAGL-leading all-around average to 39.110.

•The Wildcats will compete in George Washington University's Pink/Barbie Meet at the Charles E. Smith Center on Friday, Feb. 16 (7 p.m.). That five-team meet is scheduled to also feature Towson, Kent State and William & Mary.
