Cookman Named an All-American for the Third Straight Year

MANAHAWKIN, N.J. – Junior forward and captain Tasmin Cookman (London, England) of the University of New Hampshire field hockey team was named to the 2024 National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I All-America Third Team, sponsored by Apex Field Hockey, on Tuesday.
Cookman, one of 48 Division I student-athletes to earn All-America recognition this season, is the first UNH field hockey player to be a three-time All-America Team selection. She was named to the Second Team last year and was a Third Team honoree in 2022.
Cookman's other 2024 postseason accolades include NFHCA Northeast Region First Team, All-ECAC First Team, America East Offensive Player of the Year and America East All-Conference First Team.
Cookman, who started all 20 games, ranked No. 21 in the nation in goals per game (0.65) and 25th in points per game (1.60). Those numbers were fourth in America East in both goals per game and points per game. She ranked second on the team in goals (13), assists (six) and points (32).
In conference-only games, Cookman finished atop the America East leaderboard in both goals per game (1.00) and points per game (2.17).
Cookman scored a goal in 10 of 20 games with a point in 13 games. She scored two goals in a game three times, including against conference foes Bryant and Vermont. Cookman had a season-high five-game goal streak spanning Sept. 27 to Oct. 11 with seven goals in that span.
Cookman was named the America East Offensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive year and All-Conference First Team for the third time in as many years.
UNH finished the 2024 season with a 10-10 record as the Wildcats were runner-up in both the America East regular-season standings and conference tournament. This high-scoring trio helped the 'Cats rank No. 6 in the nation in goals per game (3.05).
