Wildcats Post Two Top 10 Finishes at Maine Black Bear Invitational to Begin Season

Aidan O’Hern places eighth
ORONO, Maine – Grad student Aidan O'Hern (Concord, N.H.) led the Wildcats with an eighth-place finish as the University of New Hampshire men's cross country team opened the season at the Maine Black Bear Invitational on the 8K course at Penobscot Valley Country Club. Army West Point (26 points) won the meet, while UNH (56 points) and Maine (56 points) tied for second and Bryant was fourth (105 points). Penobscot Valley Country Club is the home of the 2023 America East Championships.

- The Wildcats will compete at the Friar Invitational on Friday, Sept. 8 at the Mark Coogan XC Course at Highland Park in Attleboro, Mass.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- O'Hern finished with a time of 25:21.1 to lead the Wildcats, while sophomore Samuel Hilts (Concord, N.H.) placed 10th with a time of 25:28.0.
- Junior Aidan Shea (Amherst, Mass.) was 11th at 25:33.7.
- Sophomore John Murphy (Deerfield, N.H.) posted a 13th-place finish (25:39.1), while junior Peyton Ramsey (Plainville, Conn.) rounded out the top five scorers at 14th (25:42.7).
