Wildcats Take on the Competition at Friar Invitational

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Sophomore John Murphy (Deerfield, N.H.) led the Wildcats with a 13th-place finish as the University of New Hampshire men's cross country team competed at the Friar Invitational on the 6K Mark Coogan XC Course at Highland Park. Stony Brook (39 points) won the meet, while Providence (67 points) was second, UConn (72 points) was third, Brown (74 points) was fourth, Rhode Island (114 points) was fifth and UNH was sixth (134 points).

- The Wildcats will return to action at the Paul Short Invitational in Bethlehem, Pa., on Saturday, Sept. 30.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Murphy finished with a time of 19:04.3 to lead the Wildcats.
- Sophomore Zachary Hooper (Concord, N.H.) was 27th at 19:35.7.
- Junior Kevin Finn (Kennebunk, Maine) placed 32nd at 19:49.4, while sophomore Samuel Hilts (Concord, N.H.) was 35th with a time of 19:56.9.
- Sophomore Joshua Lesniak (Amherst, Mass.) was 40th at 20:10.7 to round out the top five point scorers for the Wildcats.
