Senior co-captain hit for a 9.950 to share first place with Towson's Grace Vaillancourt
DURHAM, N.H. – Senior co-captain Robyn Kelley (Wakefield, Mass.) tied the highest balance beam score in EAGL Championship history and was named to the EAGL All-Tournament First Team on beam and Second Team on vault and floor exercise to highlight the UNH gymnastics team's fourth-place finish in the 2023 EAGL Championship, presented by Mass General Brigham Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, on Saturday at the Whittemore Center.
Towson won its first-ever EAGL title by virtue of its 196.500, which edged runner-up North Carolina State (196.425) and third-place North Carolina (196.350). UNH posted a 195.500 to finish fourth and end its season with a 20-10 record, which marked the eighth 20-win season in program history.
The Wildcats earned victories over all four teams that competed in Session 1: Temple (194.925); George Washington (194.525); LIU (194.275) and Pitt (194.225).
Saturday's meet marked the end of an era, as North Carolina, N.C. State and Pitt will leave EAGL to join the new ACC Gymnastics Conference in 2024.
