HOW IT HAPPENED
•Senior Hannah Baddick (Gettysburg, Pa.) started the 'Cats off well by winning vault with a 9.825. Senior Mariella Miele (Basking Ridge, N.J.) claimed a share of third place with a 9.750. The Wildcats trailed, 48.825-48.650, after one rotation.
•LIU's Mara Titarsolej topped the podium on uneven bars with a 9.950 that helped the visitors take the first-rotation lead, but in the second rotation, New Hampshire's bar lineup brought the intensity. Kratchwell, who earned the meet's Katie Baldwin Expression Award, took second place, junior Kylie Gorgenyi (North Reading, Mass.) finished third (9.875) and junior Kenadi Brown (Las Vegas, Nev.) hit for a career-best 9.825 for fourth place.
•The Wildcats and Sharks were knotted at 97.400 at the meet's halfway point.
•UNH began to pull away on balance beam in Rotation 3. Worthington and Lui tallied a 9.900 to headline a quartet that included Baddick (9.825, third place) and sophomore Sierra Bauman (Wallingford, Conn.), who established a personal-best 9.800 for fourth.
•UNH took a 146.275-146.100 lead after three events.
•The 'Cats saved their best for last, totaling a 49.125 on floor exercise. Lui matched her career-high with a 9.900 from the No. 4 spot in the lineup, and Worthington equaled that mark --and her own PB-- from the anchor position. Gorgenyi and Brown shared third place (9.800) with LIU's Katy Koopman.
"It was nice to see us improve on some key elements this weekend," head coach Lindsey Bruck Ayotte said. "We had some really great performances with Hannah, Kylie Kratchwell, Hailey and Alyssa. We can't control the judging, so we need to go out there and compete like we have been practicing!"
