Lui ties for first on balance beam with a 9.925; UNH places third vs Pitt, GWU
PITTSBURGH – Senior Hailey Lui (Collegeville, Pa.) earned a share of first place with a 9.925 on balance beam, junior Kylie Gorgenyi (North Reading, Mass.) placed third on uneven bars with a 9.875 and the UNH gymnastics team totaled a 195.125 to finish third at the Pitt tri-meet, which the Panthers won (196.675) Sunday at the Fitzgerald Field House.
George Washington notched a 196.375 to finish in second place. UNH's record moves to 6-7 on the season and 2-4 in designed EAGL meets.

HOW IT HAPPENED
•The Wildcats began the meet on bars, where they scored a 49.050 –their top event of the meet. Gorgenyi's third-place performance was supported by sophomore Jenna DeVincenzo's (Bethpage, N.Y.) career-high 9.850 (T-4th).
•Lui, who shared first on beam with Pitt's Katie Chamberlain and GWUs Deja Chambliss, is tied for No. 1 in EAGL on that apparatus with a 9.870 National Qualifying Score (NQS). DeVincenzo matched her personal best with a 9.825 to tie for eighth place. The 'Cats scored a 48.325 on beam.
•Junior Kenadi Brown (Las Vegas, Nev.), Lui and junior Alyssa Worthington (West Warwick, R.I.) tied for team-high honors on floor exercise with a mark of 9.825 (T-4th). Gorgenyi's 9.800 tied for eighth place, and the Wildcats amassed a 49.025 in that rotation.
•In the final rotation, senior Mariella Miele (Basking Ridge, N.J.) headlined UNH's vault lineup with a 9.800 (T-5th), while senior Hannah Baddick (Gettysburg, Pa.) and freshman Gracy Mowers (Middleton, Mass.) each scored a 9.775 to earn a share of ninth place. New Hampshire's team score on vault was a 48.725.
"We had some good performances today, and I am very proud of Jenna and Hailey for stepping up," head coach Lindsey Bruck Ayotte said. "We are looking forward to getting back in the gym and working on our consistency."
