Groman Scores 17 in 78-58 Loss to Siena

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – Junior guard Adara Groman (Hopkinton, Mass) scored 17 points and recorded 36 minutes as the University of New Hampshire women's basketball team was taken down by Siena, 78-58 on Thursday evening at the UHY Center in Loudonville, N.Y.
Senior guard Brooke Kane (Derry, N.H) recorded 15 points and claimed nine rebounds for the Wildcats.
The Wildcats' record falls to 1-1 (0-0 AE) and Siena's improves to 1-0 (0-0- GNAC).

FIRST QUARTER:
· Siena opened-up the scoring and went on a seven-point run until Kane got the 'Cats on the board with a free throw.
· Siena led 17-7 at the end of the first quarter.
SECOND QUARTER:
· Kane had back-to-back threes to bring the Wildcats within five, 23-18.
· Freshman guard Avery O'Connor (Dedham, Mass) came back with a quick jumper and forced a timeout for the Saints.
· The second quarter ended with a 40-23 Siena lead.
THIRD QUARTER:
· Siena had the first basket of the third quarter, but Adara Groman was quick to respond with a three pointer.
FOURTH QUARTER:
· The Wildcats went on a 5-0 run on the Saints only broken by a Siena free throw.
· Groman bounced right back with a jumper and Kane added on two good free throws.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
· Freshman guard Breezie Williams (Canton, Ohio) led the team in assists (3) and steals (3).
· The 'Cats outscored the Saints 21-16 in the fourth quarter by holding the to a .235 field goal percentage.
