BOSTON – Freshman Aidan Shea (Amherst, Mass.) led the Wildcats as the University of New Hampshire men's cross country team competed at the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown on the 8K course at Franklin Park on Friday versus national competition.
"This is a long term project, this team has gone through a lot of transition, said UNH head coach Robert Hoppler. "We ran very well in the first two meets, this meet got away from us, the athletes were a little over there heads and a little intimidated. They are excited to work hard going forward to see how much we can improve as the season goes on. It was a tough meet for sure, we are looking to regroup and move on for our next meet in two weeks."
The meet featured some of the top competition in the country including No. 6 nationally-ranked Arkansas. The Razorbacks won the meet with 39 points as Arkansas' Gilbert Boit won the individual championship with a time of 24:08.
