Worthington takes first on beam (9.875) ; Gorgenyi wins all-around (39.075)

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – Sophomore Alyssa Worthington (West Warwick, R.I.) scored a 9.875 to earn first place on balance beam and sophomore Kylie Gorgenyi (North Reading, Mass.) won the all-around with a 39.075 to lead the UNH gymnastics team to Sunday afternoon's runner-up finish (194.900) at the LIU quad meet.

Towson scored a 195.175 to post the victory, followed by the Wildcats (6-3, 3-1 EAGL), Pittsburgh (194.050) and Long Island (191.925).

Robyn Kelley (Wakefield, Mass.) had a strong overall meet with a 9.800 on vault (T-3rd), a 9.825 on beam (T-4th) and a 9.850 on floor exercise (2nd).

HOW IT HAPPENED

ROTATION 1 (UNEVEN BARS – 48.825)
•Gorgenyi anchored the bar lineup with a 9.850 for a share of third place. Senior co-captain Lauren Diggan (Sinking Spring, Pa.) added a 9.825 (T-6th), and senior co-captain Clare Hampford (Trumbull, Conn.) recorded a 9.775 (10th).

ROTATION 2 (BALANCE BEAM – 48.925)
•Worthington's victory on beam was supported by Kelley and junior Hannah Baddick (Gettysburg, Pa.), who placed sixth with a 9.800.

ROTATION 3 – (FLOOR EXERCISE – 48.550)
•Following Kelley's runner-up finish was Gorgenyi, who shared sixth with a 9.750 and Hampford, who scored a 9.700 for 11th place.

ROTATION 4 – (VAULT – 48.600)
•Kelley and Gorgenyi again set the tone with matching team-leading marks of 9.800 (T-3rd), and Maya MacDonald (East Greenbush, N.Y.) set a personal best with a 9.725 (T-10th).
