ALBANY, N.Y. – Sophomore quarterback Bret Edwards (Lowell, Mass.) connected with sophomore tight end Thomas Splagounias (Windham, N.H.) for a 5-yard TD as the University of New Hampshire football team rallied late, but UAlbany held on the win, 20-7, Saturday afternoon on Ford Field at Casey Stadium.
UNH lost its sixth consecutive game and slipped to 3-6 overall and 2-4 in the Colonial Athletic Association.
The Wildcats are down to two games remaining in the season. They play at Rhode Island next Saturday, Nov. 13, at 1 p.m.
UNH returns to Wildcat Stadium to finish the season with a Border Battle clash with Maine for the Brice-Cowell Musket and Senior Day on Nov. 20 at 1 p.m.

Edwards, who started UNH's first eight games of the season, came on in relief of freshman Brody McAndrew (Langhorne, Pa.) with 10 minutes left in the fourth quarter. McAndrew made his first start.
Edwards completed 12 of his 17 pass attempts for 170 yards with the touchdown and an interception.
The TD catch was the first reception of his career for Splagounias.
Redshirt freshman defensive end Josiah Silver (Hampton, Va.) forced two fumbles and had a fumble recovery and redshirt freshman safety Noah Stansbury (Orange, N.J.) had a pass interception, his third of the season.
Silver and junior defensive end Gunner Gibson (Hailey, Idaho) led UNH with nine tackles each.
UNH had trouble with UAlbany running back Karl Mofor all game. The 5-foot-8, 224-pound senior had 45 carries for 232 yards and scored both of the team's touchdowns.

1st QUARTER
- The teams played a scoreless opening period.
2ND QUARTER
- Dylan Burns kicked a 40-yard field goal to give Albany a 3-0 lead with 7:49 to play.
- Mofor ran for a 1-yard score to up Albany's edge to 10-0 with nine seconds left in the half.
- Mofor ran for four yards on first down from the UNH-5.
- The Wildcats defense held him out of the end zone on the next two plays from the 1, but he scored on a 4th and 1.
3RD QUARTER
- The Great Danes had a 16-play drive that took 10 and a half minutes to open the second half.
- Burns capped it with a 25-yard field goal for a 13-0 lead.
4th QUARTER
- Mofor made it 20-0 with a 17-yard TD run with 9:58 left in the quarter.
- Edwards entered the game at that point and led UNH to its touchdown.
- He passed to Splagounias for the 5-yard score to make it 20-7 with 4:03 to go.
- The Wildcats just missed covering an onside kick and the defense held to force a punt.
- UNH marched back down the field but an interception near the goal line ended the rally.
- McAndrew completed 12 of his 20 passes for 68 yards and had two passes intercepted.
- Sophomore tight end Kyle Lepkowski (Adamstown, Md.) caught six passes for 70 yards.
- Redshirt freshman running back Isaac Seide (Everett, Mass.) caught six passes for 38 yards.
- He had eight carries for 28 yards.
- Senior Nick Lorden (Milford, N.H.)caught a pair of passes for 53 yards, including a 46-yarder that helped set up the team's score.
- UNH was missing its top two running backs to injury.
- Junior Carlos Washington Jr. (Fort Washington, Mad.) missed his first game.
- Sophomore running back Dylan Laube (Westhampton, N.Y.) missed the game with an ankle injury.
- Redshirt freshman Aidan Cadogan (Waltham, Mass.) averaged 44.7 yards on his three punts.
- The Wildcats lost one fumble and had three passes intercepted.
- They intercepted one UAlbany pass and recovered a fumble.
- UNH had 35 net yards rushing and 238 yards passing.
- Sophomore linebacker Oleh Manzyk (Feasterville, Pa), who played his first game last week as he came back from an injury, had seven tackles.
- Sophomore defensive tackle Chris Donnelly (Park Ridge, Pa.) had a quarterback sack.
- Grad student safety Evan Horn (Lebanon, Pa.) and senior safety Pop Bush (Nocatee, Fla.) each had half a sack.
- Junior defensive tackle Niko Kvietkus (Southington, Conn.) was knocked out of last week's game against Richmond with an injury and is likely out for the season.
