Alpine Team Powers Skiing to Fourth at Bates Carnival

Woodhouse, women’s alpine team take second in slalom

NEWRY & RUMFORD, Maine – Emma Woodhouse (Collingwood, Ontario) finished runner-up and Fanny Sanderberg (Oslo, Norway) took ninth in women's slalom at Sunday River to propel the University of New Hampshire ski team to second place in that race and fourth place overall at the Bates Carnival, which continues Saturday.
In men's alpine action, Will Bruneau-Bouchard (Quebec City, Quebec / seventh place) and Corey McConville (London, Ontario / 10th) collected Top-10 finishes in slalom to lead the Wildcats to fourth in that race.
At Black Mountain, Scott Schulz (Lake Placid, N.Y.) placed 11th in the men's 20K classic and Lucinda Anderson (Golden Valley, Minn.) crossed the line in 14th place in the women's 15K classic to headline the Nordic team's efforts.
