Wildcats take 9th in the team scores.
BOSTON – University of New Hampshire fifth-year senior Shannon Murdock (Exeter, N.H.) earned her second career New England individual track championship, as the Wildcats women's track & field team finished ninth at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) 2020 Indoor Championships at Northeastern University.
Murdock won the 3000-meter run with a time of 9:42.68. It's her third career New England individual championship, after she just took the individual championship in cross country this past fall. Her first individual track championship came in the 2017 outdoor 1500m.
The distance medley relay team of Michaella Conery (Concord N.H.), Bosibori Mosongo (Indianapolis, Ind.), Lauren Dean (Gilmanton Iron Works, N.H.), and Nicole Yeomans (Foxborough, Mass.) took runner up in the event to the eventual meet winner, UConn. The team finished second with a time of 11:58.68. It was a season-best time for the Wildcats in that event.
UNH finished ninth in the team scores out of 24 total teams. The Wildcats finished in the top 10 for the first time since the 2016 indoor championships where they took fourth with 49.75 points.
