Junior topped podium in men’s giant slalom for first career win

UNH, which benefitted from a women's slalom first-place finish from Emma Woodhouse (Collingwood, Ontario) on Friday, finished fourth overall with 712 points in the EISA's season-opening carnival, which Vermont won with 867 points.
Kenney scored 50 of the Wildcats' 111 points (second place) in men's GS at Waterville Valley, while Lisa Olsson (Stockholm, Sweden) highlighted the women's third-place finish (100 points) by taking fourth place in the GS.
At Craftsbury Outdoor Center, Anders Sonnesyn (Minneapolis, Minn. / seventh place) and Scott Schulz (Lake Placid, N.Y. / ninth place) each recorded a Top-10 finish in the men's 20K classic mass start to propel the Wildcats to third place (94 points) in that race.
Eleonora Olsmats (Djursholm, Sweden) was the top 'Cat in women's Nordic by virtue of her 20th-place finish in the 15K classic.

•Week 2 of the EISA season features the Vermont Carnival with Nordic races at Craftsbury and alpine races at Stowe Mountain Resort on Friday, Jan. 24, and Saturday, Jan. 25. Friday action consists of the men's and women's classic sprints and men's and women's giant slalom. Saturday's Nordic races are the women's 5K and men's 10K skate, and the alpine schedule includes the men's and women's slalom.
