'Cats Power Past Red Foxes, 5-0

Wildcats saw five different goal scorers in the game.
Senior Ally Reynolds (Weymouth, Mass.) and junior Sofia Borea (Oakville, Ont.) both led the offense with one goal and one assist while Megan Rumbold (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) contributed two assists.
Sophomore Cat Sheppard (Nesconset, N.Y.) and junior Cam Droste (Lone Tree, Colo.) both saw action in net and combined for the clean sheet.
UP NEXT: The Wildcats travel to Boston College to take on the Eagles this Sunday September 8 at 2 p.m.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Wildcats opened up the scoring in the 16th minute of the game with a goal by Reynolds. Rumbold sent a low ball to Reynolds posted at the center of the box who then shot into the lower left side of the net.
- In the 24th minute, UNH increased their lead to 2-0 off a goal by Borea. Reynolds sent a shot that was intercepted by Borea, who fired a shot past the keeper.
- Their lead was increased once again in the 34th minute when senior captain Caitlyn Keenan (Bow, N.H.) headed the ball into the goal off corner kick launched across the goalmouth by Liz Lane (Porter, Maine).
- Wildcats went up 4-0 in the 38th minute with a goal netted by senior Jill Conry (Bolton, Mass.). Wiley sent a corner kick to Rumbold who ripped a shot that bobbled in front of Conry and was fired into the net.
- In the 52nd minute, Marist had their first real scoring opportunity, but was denied by the UNH defense. Jillian Colucci collected a close rebound from UNH goalkeeper Sheppard and fired a shot over the top of the goal post.
- UNH scored their fifth unanswered goal in the 56th minute when senior Kaylan Williams (Marion, Ind.) beat the Marist defense for a one-on-one with the goalkeeper and shot with her left-foot into the bottom-right corner.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- UNH led in total shots 18-10, with 12 being on target.
- UNH tallied 10 shots on goal in the first half alone.
- Corner kicks were even at 5-5.
- Cat Sheppard back-lined the 'Cats for 75 minutes of the game making two saves. Droste came in in the 76th minute and made one save to preserve the shutout.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
· Ally Reynolds has now scored a goal in two consecutive games.
· The last time UNH scored 5 goals in a game was Sept. 27, 2015 against Binghamton, where they went on to win 6-0.
· Sofia Borea, Caitlyn Keenan, Jill Conry, and Kaylan Williams tallied their first goals of the season. Conry tallied the first of her career.
· With the win in net, Cat Sheppard is now 3-2-0 on the year with a 0.62 GAA and .857 save percentage.
· The Wildcats are now 2-1-0 at home this season.
