Woodhouse, Bruneau-Bouchard lead alpine skiers for second straight day
HANCOCK & RIPTON, Vt. – Emma Woodhouse (Collingwood, Ontario) registered her second straight Top-10 finish and Will Bruneau-Bouchard (Quebec City, Quebec) made it back-to-back Top-20 placements to lead the University of New Hampshire ski team to sixth place at the Middlebury College Carnival, which wrapped up Saturday with alpine racing at Middlebury College Snow Bowl and Nordic racing at Rikert Nordic Center.
Middlebury, the host school, won the carnival with 915 points, followed by Dartmouth (908), Vermont (875), Colby (541), Williams (526) and UNH (459).
Woodhouse placed 10th in women's giant slalom in a combined time of 2 minutes, 15.25 seconds for 30 points. The Wildcat women's alpine racers finished fourth (81 points) in GS.
Bruneau-Bouchard was the top Wildcat men's alpine racer for the second day in a row. The sophomore finished 15th in a time of 2:07.89 for 28 points.
The UNH Nordic team was led by Jakob Velle (Oslo, Norway) in the men's 10K skate; he finished 30th in a time of 24 minutes, 13.1 seconds. In the women's 5K skate, Sarah Nadeau (Hopkinton, N.H.) was the leading Wildcat (36th place, 14:45.9, 15 points).

LOOKING AHEAD
•The alpine team competes in a makeup of the postponed Dartmouth Carnival giant slalom (scheduled for Feb. 8) this Sunday, Feb. 16.
•The EISA Championships represent the NCAA East Regional Championships at the Bates College Carnival on Feb. 22-23. Sunday River will serve as the site for the alpine championships, and Black Mountain will play host to the Nordic races.
