Emma Woodhouse Raced to a Sixth-Place Finish in Women's GS
Ski 'Cats Tied for Fifth at EISA Championships (Day 1 of 2)

NEWRY & RUMFORD, Maine– The University of New Hampshire ski team competed in day one action of the Bates College Carnival as a part of the 2019 EISA Championships/NCAA East Regional Championships on Friday and sit in fifth place.
Emma Woodhouse (Collingwood, Ontario) and Lisa Olsson (Stockholm, Sweden) nabbed top-10 finishes in the women's giant slalom at Sunday River to lead the way. Woodhouse's combined time of 2 minutes, 39.21 seconds garnered a sixth-place finish, while Olsson took eighth place. The top-10 placement for Woodhouse is her eighth in nine alpine races this season.
Fanny Sanderberg (Oslo, Norway) rounded out the women's GS for the 'Cats coming in at 2:41.08 to finish 14th. In all, UNH picked up 98 of its 218 first-day points in the women's GS.
In the 10K freestyle on the men's side of the Nordic races, Bryce Hartman (Saranac, N.Y.) led the way for UNH, posting a 24th-place finish at Black Mountain. Will Bodewes (Durango, Colo.) finished in 26th place.
