Wildcats To Compete at 46th Annual Paul Short Run (Sat., 12:15 P.M.)

DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire men's cross country team heads out to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania this weekend to compete in the 46th annual Paul Short Run, one of the nation's premiere cross country events.
The Wildcats are coming off a week of training and preparation after their competitive finish at the Coast to Coast Invitational, putting them in the regional rankings.
MEET DETAILS:
Date: October 6, 2019
Race: Men's College Brown 8K – 12:45 A.M.
Location: Goodman Campus Cross Country Course – Bethlehem, Pa.
The Wildcats will once again to look to senior Nicolas Sevilla-Connelly (Chester, N.H.) to lead the way in the race of 40+ teams. Sevilla-Connelly was the top individual finisher for UNH in the Coast to Coast Invitational, finishing 40th on the way to a 15th place overall team finish.
Freshman Forest MacKenzie (Deerfield, N.H.) was the second Wildcat to cross the finish line at Coast to Coast; he was joined by James Wilkes (Concord, N.H.), Samuel Lanternier (Derry, N.H.), Aidan Sullivan (Nashua, N.H.), Nicholas Brown (Conway, N.H.), and Alex Saveliev (Concord, N.H.) as the top seven scorers.
RANKED IN THE REGION
The Wildcats entered the top 15 in the USTFCCCA northeast regional poll on September 23 for the first time since the 2015 season. The Wildcats were ranked 13th in the region, and remain there after their week off; they are the third-highest America East team in the northeast region.
FROM THE COACH:
"There's 47 teams in the race, we'll be able to run up at the front and see how we are; weather looks good, hopefully we'll get it done and keep our ranking. We're excited, kids have been training well for two weeks, we'll be good to go."
