Danis Honored as Performer of the Week

The junior transfer earns her first career America East weekly honor.
BOSTON – University of New Hampshire women's cross country junior Elisabeth Danis (Nottingham, N.H.) has been named the America East Cross Country Female Performer of the week, the league announced Wednesday morning. Danis was UNH's top finisher in the previous week, leading the team to victory at the CCSU Mini Meet.
Danis posted her first career 3-kilometer cross country finish with a time of 9:53.9; she finished second overall in the race and led a Wildcats team that finished second, third, fourth, seventh and ninth for a team score of 26, beating out the host school Central Connecticut in second with 103 points.
Danis transferred to UNH last season, making the 2019 cross country season her first eligible season as a Wildcat. This is her first weekly honor from the America East conference.
Danis and the Wildcats return to action this Saturday, November 2, at the 2019 America East cross country championships hosted by the University at Albany. The women's race will kick off the day at 9:45 A.M.
