Danis, Murdock Lead ‘Cats in CCSU Victory

All five Wildcat scorers were in the top 10.
NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – The University of New Hampshire women's cross country team took a first place finish at the 17th annual Central Connecticut State Mini Meet, with a team score of 25 points.
All five UNH scorers finished the race in the top ten, with junior transfer Elisabeth Danis (Nottinhgham, N.H.) taking second overall in the race, finishing the 3k course in 9:53.9, her first collegiate 3k cross country finish.
Finishing right behind Danis was fifth-year senior Shannon Murdock (Exeter, N.H.) taking third place in 9:59.9, beating her old best time set at the 2017 CCSU mini meet. Senior Meg Champagne (Plattsburgh, N.Y.) finished fourth at 10:04.7, also setting a new personal best in the 3k.
The final two UNH scorers finished seventh and ninth; junior Cayla Barretto (Woburn, Mass.) took seventh with a time of 10:16.4, and sophomore Nicole Yeomans (Foxborough, Mass.) took ninth in 10:18.4; both times were new personal bests.

The Wildcats head to Albany, N.Y. for the 2019 America East Cross Country Championships, hosted by UAlbany next Saturday, November 2.
