STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. – The 2018 NCAA Ski Championships wrap up Saturday with the University of New Hampshire ski team sending senior Nordic skier Peter Holmes (Tahoe City, Calif.) into action for the men's 20K freestyle mass start race (11 a.m. ET) at Howelsen Hill.
Holmes placed 11th in the men's 10K classic Thursday, missing All-American by one spot. UNH's only Nordic skier competing at NCAAs this year crossed the finish line in 28 minutes, 54.5 seconds for 20 points.
Holmes, who will start from the No. 38 spot, will look to join UNH junior alpine skier Geneviève Frigon (Laval, Quebec) as 2018 All-Americans. Frigon raced to a sixth-place finish late Friday night in the women's slalom to earn Second-Team All-American honors.
The Wildcats are in 10th place through three days of competition.
