Nordic Team Places Second in EISA at Woodstock

Lyons, Anderson Finish 2-3 to Highlight Women's Efforts
UNH totaled 245 points for second place in Nordic competition behind Vermont (271 points). Saint Lawrence finished third (198).
In the combined EISA Woodstock Nordic and Burke Mountain Carnival (alpine), UVM holds the overall lead with 818 points, followed by the Saints (606) and the Wildcats (490), who did not have a competitor in Friday's women's giant slalom.
Lyons, a freshman, placed runner-up and earned 47 points by clocking in at 17 minutes, 6.4 seconds. Anderson, a sophomore, collected 44 points by virtue of her third-place showing (17:24.1). Freshman Georgianna Fischer (Bozeman, Mont.) registered an impressive seventh-place finish (37 points / 17:49.7). UNH was edged 130-128 by UVN in the women's 5K. SLU totaled 99 points.
In the men's 10K classic, Schulz notched a team-leading 41 points in 31:04.5. Freshman James Schneider (Plymouth, Minn.) posted a sixth-place finish and 39 points (31:52.6), and junior Andrew Meyer (Bozeman, Mont.) took seventh place (32:18.1, 37 points) to power the Wildcats to 117 points, second behind the Catamounts (141). The Saints scored 99 points.

•Junior Crowley Gentile (Greenland, N.H.) is scheduled to compete in the men's giant slalom at Burke Mountain on Saturday at 9:15 a.m. The Wildcat Nordic team is set to host the UNH Nordic Carnival at Jackson XC on Friday, Feb. 19.
