Holmes' Second-Place Finish Leads Skiing at EISAs (Day 1)

Wildcats in fourth place at NCAA Regionals/Middlebury Carnival
HANCOCK, Vt. & RIPTON, Vt. – Peter Holmes (Tahoe City, Calif.) finished as the runner-up in Friday's men's 10K classic at Rikert Nordic Center for his fourth podium of the season, and the University of New Hampshire ski team moved into fourth place halfway through the 2018 Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association (EISA) Championships/NCAA East Regional Championships/Middlebury College Carnival.
Holmes, who won the 10K classic races at Dartmouth (Feb. 9) and Vermont (Feb. 3) and finished third at St. Michael's (Jan. 20), crossed the finish line in 24 minutes, 26.5 seconds, which was 7.3 seconds behind race winner Zane Fields of Colby.
With 314 points, New Hampshire trails Dartmouth (483), Vermont (467) and Middlebury (384) in the overall race for the EISA Championship.
