Ulrich Paces Wildcats to Third at CCSU

Conference meet on deck for the ‘Cats.
NEW BRITAIN, Conn. - The University of New Hampshire men's cross country team trekked down to Central Connecticut for the annual pre-conference mini-meet.
The men's squad took third place in the team score with a team point total of 99. The 'Cats were led by William Ulrich (Mineola, N.Y.) who took a top-10 spot in the individual standings. Ulrich finished in sixth place in 14 minutes, 59.5 seconds. His time was an improvement on his most previous 5K time at the Coast to Coast Invitational (15:49.0).
Senior Dean Yost (Canton, Conn.) was the next Wildcat to cross the finish line with a top-20 spot; Yost finished 17th with a time of 15:26.2. Yost's time was a 12 second improvement over his 5K time that started the year back in September.
The race was won overall by AIC's Leakey Kipkosgei who finished in 14:37.2. Providence took first in the team score with four runners in the top 10. Yale was between Providence and UNH in second with a team score of 77.

Championship season is in full swing for the Wildcats, with the America East Championship Meet taking place next Saturday, October 27 at Mine Falls Park in Nashua, N.H. From there, qualifiers will move on to the NCAA Regional meet on November 9th in Buffalo, N.Y.

- Sophomore Nicolas Sevilla-Connelly (Chester, N.H.) took 21st place in 15:28.9. It was a new personal best by a full 23 seconds.
- Senior Brett Hoerner (Manchester, N.H.) finished in 23rd with a time of 15:30.3. He beat his 5K time from the start of the season, which was 15:41.2.
- Junior Jack Crawford (Mansfield, Mass.) took 32nd place in 15:44.3, crushing his previous personal best of 15:56.5.
- Rounding out the pack was senior Davis Clark (Manchester, N.H.) who took 36th in 15:50.8.
