McManus scored her eighth and ninth goals of the season in the loss.

BOSTON – Sophomore forward Meghara McManus (Milton, Mass.) tallied two goals to tie the game for the University of New Hampshire women's hockey team, but it wasn't enough as the Northeastern Huskies took down UNH 5-3 on Sunday afternoon.

This comes after the Wildcats defeated the Huskies in overtime, 2-1 on Friday. After Sunday's game, the Huskies take the season series 2-1, also taking the single game in October.

Senior forward Carlee Toews (Grand Prairie, Alberta) had an assist on all three goals; she's now up to a team-high nine assists on the season. McManus leads the team in goals with nine.

Freshman goaltender Ava Boutilier (Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island) got the start and made 26 saves in the loss, allowing five goals. Her record on the season is now 6-6-5.

GAME RECAP

There were four goals scored in the first period. Northeastern started the scoring with an even strength goal 8:33 into the period.
McManus responded with her first goal of the game just over two minutes later, assisted by Toews, to tie the game at 1-all.
The Huskies tallied two more goals in the final five minutes of the period, the first coming on one of New Hampshire's two penalties of the game; the Huskies led 3-1 after one period.
The Wildcats rallied back again in the second, with Amy Schlagel (Blaine, Minn.) hitting a power play goal from the point just 40 seconds into the period.
McManus scored her second of the game to tie it up a second time, as she charged the net and tapped a shot just past Frankel as she fell forward.
Northeastern took the lead once again on a powerplay goal 17 minutes into the second period to head into the second intermission up 4-3.
The Huskies put the game away with an even strength goal 13 minutes into the final period.
