Kenefick Wins Individual Title at CCSU Mini-Meet

Wildcats Place Sixth in 21-Team Event
NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – University of New Hampshire senior Timothy Kenefick (Guilford, Conn.) was the individual champion to lead the Wildcats to a sixth-place finish at the Central Connecticut State University Mini-Meet that was held Friday afternoon at Stanley Quarter Park.
Kenefick completed the 5K course in 15 minutes, 2.7 seconds to finish nearly 11 seconds ahead of runner-up Austin Trainor of CCSU (15:13.3).
UNH placed sixth in the 21-team event with 128 points. The University of Massachusetts raced to victory with 57 points; CCSU (91 points), Providence College (100), Yale (105) and Stony Brook (109) completed the top five.
Junior Cody Symonds (Alton, N.H.) was the next Wildcat to cross the finish line in 25th place overall with a time of 15:38.6. Classmate Dean Yost (Canton, Conn.), sophomore Alexander Saveliev (Concord, N.H.) and Davis Clark (Manchester, N.H.), another junior, finished within five seconds of one another.
Yost placed 30th at 15:44.1, followed by Saveliev in 35th with a clocking of 15:48.2 and Clark in 37th in 15:49.1.
