Kenefick Finishes 6th to Lead ’Cats in America East Championship

ST. ALBANS, Vt. – Junior Timothy Kenefick (Guilford, Conn.) came up with a Top 10 finish to lead the University of New Hampshire men's cross country team in the America East Championships on Saturday at the Hard'Ack Recreation Area.
Kenefick completed the 8K course in a time of 24 minutes, 59.23 seconds to earn sixth place in the race. He improved on his 13th spot of last year and posted his best result at the championships.
UNH was sixth in the race, one point behind fifth-place Maine.
Junior Davis Clark (Manchester, N.H.) finished in 33rd in 26:04.42 and sophomore Nicolas Ochoa-Sevilla (Chester, N.H.) was 35th in 26:07.64.
The Wildcats packed five runners from 43rd to 50th. Junior William Ulrich(Mineola, N.Y.) was 43rd in 26:24.57, junior Cody Symonds (Alton, N.H.) was 45th in 26:31.85, junior Matthew Geraci (Honeoye Falls, N.Y.) was 47th in 26:35.69), junior Dean Yost (Canton, Conn.) was 49th in 26:44.10 and sophomore Alexander Saveliev (Concord, N.H.) was 50th in 26:44.80.
Paul Hogan of UMass Lowell was the winner of the race in 24:09.77
Stony Brook took the team championship with 40 points and UMass Lowell was runnerup with 43. The University at Albany was third with 87 points, Vermont was fourth with 131, Maine was fifth with 148 and UNH had 149.
UP NEXT:
The Wildcats will compete in the NCAA Regionals on Nov. 10 in Buffalo.
The NCAA finals are Nov. 18 in Louisville, Kty.
