DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire women's soccer team concludes the regular season on Sunday, Oct. 23 at 4 PM at UMass Lowell at the Cushing Field Complex.
America East Playoffs
The Wildcats have secured the fourth seed for the America East playoffs which will be played in Durham at Bremner Field on Thursday, Oct. 27 (7 PM). The opponent will be determined following results on Sunday. Game information will be announced after Sunday. This is the highest seed from the 2014 championship run which the 'Cats were seeded third overall.
New Hampshire (6-7-3, 3-3-1 AE)
Last time out: The 'Cats come back effort against Stony Brook came up short on Thursday night in a 3-2 loss. After trailing 3-0, UNH was able to score two late goals. Kaylan Williams (Marion, Ind.) scored her first career goal in the 76th minute. Brooke Murphy (Monson, Mass.) then recorded her tenth goal of the season on a penalty kick that was awarded after Liz Lane (Porter, Maine) was taken down in the box. New Hampshire outshot Stony Brook 19-6 in the contest.
Who to look for: Murphy leads the team in shots (60), goals (10) and total points (23). She currently tops the America East in goals and is second in shots. Borkan holds the number three spot in America East with a .826 save percentage this season and the number one spot with 95 saves.
UMass Lowell (4-9-2, 2-5 AE)
Last time out: The River Hawks have lost three straight games, most recently falling to Binghamton, 1-0, on the road. Binghamton outplayed UMass Lowell in nearly every category. Four athletes recorded one shot for the River Hawks. In net, Julia Schneider recorded two saves.
Who to look for: Rachel Morrier leads the River Hawks with three goals and one assist on the year followed by Katelyn Vieira with two goals. Schneider has started all 13 games this season with a 1.14 goals against average and 71 saves for a 0.826 save percentage.
