Camara’s Fourth Double-Double Lead Men’s Basketball Over Worcester St., 100-66

DURHAM, N.H. – Sophomore Iba Camara (Dakar, Senegal) scored a career-high 18 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to propel the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team to a 100-66 victory over Worcester State University, Tuesday night at Lundholm Gymnasium.
The Wildcats' win improved their overall record to 6-3 as the Lancers dipped to 4-5 overall.
Camara shot a personal-best 9 of 14 from the field and notched a career-high three blocks in 27 minutes of action. Junior Tanner Leissner (Converse, Texas) tallied 20 points, on a career-high nine buckets, and reeled in 12 rebounds. Junior Joe Bramanti (Andover, Mass.) recorded 11 points with a career high seven assists to lead the team.
No team led by more than four as the score was all knotted up, 8-8, with 15 minutes, 36 seconds left in the first half. Then the Wildcats rifled off a 24-0 run to take a 32-8 lead with 7:21 left on the first-half clock. Seven Wildcats tallied points in the stretch led by freshman Pat McNamara (Arlington Heights, Ill.) and Leissner with six apiece. The run lasted 8:22 and was the largest run of the season for UNH. McNamara tallied 11 points on the night.
The Wildcats led 46-23 at the break.
The second half was much of the same from the Wildcat offense but the Lancers shot 47.4 percent from the field (18 of 38) and 46.7 percent from beyond the arc (7 of 15) to increase their second-half scoring to 43 points against the first half's 23.
The Wildcats secured the win on a 60-28 paint-scoring advantage as well as a 21-7 second-chance-scoring lead.
Worcester State was led by freshman Alex Santos who tallied 18 points (7 of 17) in 25 minutes. Junior Paul Brooks was one rebound shy of a double-double and scored 10 points.
New Hampshire takes on Colgate University on Sunday, Dec. 13 with a noon tip off. The Wildcats return home Saturday, Dec. 19 to host intrastate rival Dartmouth College (1 p.m.).
