Farren Propels Women’s Cross Country to a 10th Place Finish at CCSU Mini Meet

NEW BRITAIN, CONN. – Sophomore Kayla Farren (Nashua, N.H.) placed 11th overall to lead the University of New Hampshire women's cross country team to a 10th place finish at Central Connecticut State University, Friday afternoon at Stanley Park.
Farren wrapped up the 3k race in 10:29.5 in the team's first 3K race this season. Classmate Angelyn Masters (Bangor, Maine) recorded a 3K time of 10:49.7 for 29th overall. Junior Katherine Estep (Plaistow, N.H.) concluded the race in 11:04.7 for 50th place and third for New Hampshire.
To round out the final two scorers, Junior Casey McGrath (Foster, R.I.) and freshman Carina Berglund (Tewksbury, Mass.) finished 83rd (11:31.9) and 90th (11:40.7), respectively.
The Wildcats used this meet to build for the future and help younger runners receive beneficial experience heading into championship season.
New Hampshire will travel to Stony Brook University on Saturday, Oct. 31 to take on the league at the America East Championship, a meet the squad as won the past two seasons.
