Nick Guadarrama (Newington, Conn.), a senior forward on the UNH men's basketball team, became the 34th player in program history to score 1,000 career points during his 22-point performance Jan. 28 against Stony Brook at Lundholm Gymnasium.
Nick entered the game with 981 points and reached the 1,000-point milestone on a layup with 23 seconds remaining in the second half. He capped the game scoring with a three-point play with 14 seconds on the clock to increase his career total to 1,003 points and climb to No. 32 on the program's all-time scoring list.
He finished that game shooting 9 of 15 from the floor (60.0%), including 2-for-4 on 3-pointers, and went 2-for-3 at the foul line. His other stats included six rebounds, two assists and a steal.
In three games last week, Nick averaged 17.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 32.7 minutes.
The UNH men's basketball team is scheduled to return to action Feb. 2 (7 p.m.) at home vs. Hartford. The Wildcats then play Feb. 5 at UMBC and Feb. 7 at Stony Brook.
