Brett Hoerner, a senior from Manchester, N.H., took first place in one individual event and one relay race to help the UNH men's indoor track & field team defeat College of the Holy Cross on Jan. 19; it was the team's first meet since Dec. 8. Brett was honored as America East Men's Track Performer of the Week on Jan. 22 for those efforts.

Brett took first in the 1000 meter run at the Paul Sweet Oval by finishing in 2 minutes, 29.08 seconds, which is a conference-best time in the event this season. He also competed in the first-place 4x800 team as the Wildcats ran past the Crusaders by a team score of 244-178. The 4x800 team finished in 8:09.27.

The UNH men's indoor track & field team returns to action Jan. 25 at Boston University and Jan. 26 at home vs. Maine and Vermont.
