Liam Blackburn, a junior from Prince George, British Columbia, scored a goal in both games last weekend to lead the UNH men’s hockey team to a 1-0-1 record against 19th-ranked Miami University.
Liam scored an extra-attacker goal with 34 seconds remaining in regulation to lift the Wildcats to a 3-3 tie with the RedHawks last Friday (Nov. 23). It was his only shot of the game, and his other stats included a +2 plus/minute rating and two blocked shots.
In Saturday’s 4-1 win, the Wildcats fell behind 1-0 at 10:28 of the first period but Liam scored 4 minutes, 11 seconds later to tie the score and ignite UNH’s comeback. He finished that game with four shots and a +1 rating.
Liam has recorded three goals and two assists for a total of five points in 11 games this season.
New Hampshire returns to action this weekend with a home-and-home series against Providence College. The teams face off Nov. 30 at PC and conclude the weekend Dec. 1 in the Whittemore Center. Both games are at 7 p.m.
