New Hampshire returns north following a 2-0 day in South Carolina.

CLEMSON, S.C. — The University of New Hampshire women's volleyball team took down Clemson University (5-6, 0-0 ACC) on Friday evening (Sept. 18) at Jervey Gym, winning 3-0 in straight sets. The set scores were 27-25, 25-21, and 25-10.

HOW IT HAPPENED

SET 1
-The Tigers and Wildcats traded blows to open the match, leading to a 15-13 edge in favor of Clemson. For UNH, four different Wildcats landed a kill, paced by Julianne Lee (Renton, Wash.) with a pair, while Rachel Grier (Dublin, Calif.) put up a solo block and a block assist.

-New Hampshire broke off a late 14-10 edge on the score sheet, taking the first set 27-25. In the back half of the frame, Grier landed a pair of kills, Emma Converse (San Antonio, Texas) tallied two kills and a service ace, and Olivia Maulding (Canby, Ore.) added a kill and service ace of her own.

SET 2
-UNH and Clemson continued to fight through the start of the second set, culminating in a 15-13 Wildcat advantage at the media timeout. Five players earned kills to take the lead, led by Maulding with three kills and followed by Converse and Grier with two apiece.

-The Wildcats extended their lead, taking a 21-15 edge off two more kills from Grier.

-Following a 4-0 Clemson run to make it 21-19, the Wildcats closed out the set with kills from Lee and Evelyn Brenton (Glastonbury, Conn.), taking it 25-21.

SET 3
-New Hampshire's offense opened the third set hot, outscoring Clemson 12-2 off six kills from Converse, another from Jessica Shattles (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.) and Grier, and a service ace from Hady Pickard (Roswell, Ga.).

-The UNH attack continued the onslaught, outscoring the Tigers 9-6 to take a late 21-8 lead.

-Following a block from the Tigers, kills from Lee and Brenton sealed it, winning the set 25-10 and taking the match.

BY THE NUMBERS
-Six different players earned a kill in the win, paced by a 12-kill outing for Emma Converse, marking her tenth match with double-digit kills this season. Additionally, five Wildcats finished the match with 5+ kills.

-Jessica Shattles headlined the team with 30 assists, marking her eighth match with 25+ assists and seventh with 30+ assists this season.

-10 players logged a dig, including three players with 10+ digs.

Hady Pickard led the team with 21 digs, her fourth time putting up 20+ digs in a match this season.
Jessica Shattles earned her fourth double-double of the season, finishing with a season-high 15 digs.

-Olivia Maulding led the team with two service aces while Pickard and Converse landed one apiece.

-Rachel Grier led the team at the net with two solo blocks and two block assists.
