BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The University of New Hampshire women's cross country team ran to a 33rd place finish at the Paul Short Invitational Saturday afternoon at Lehigh University.
Senior Cayla Pellegrini (Derry, N.H.) finished first for the Wildcats and 105th overall of 401 runners as she ran the 5K course to a time of 21:53. Sophomore Brianna Boden (Keene, N.H.) finished second for the Wildcats and 161st overall as she broke the plane with a time of 22:19.
Freshmen Sarah Keiran (Rowley, Mass.) and Amanda Szymanski (Londonderry, N.H.) finished third and fourth for New Hampshire as they came in with times of 6:00 and 6:07, respectively. Sophomore Amber Short (Keene, N.H.) crossed the line in fifth for UNH with a time of 22:54 while Alex Geise (Franklin, Mass.) and Meagan Boucher (Manchester, N.H.) rounded out the top-seven finishers for the Wildcats. Geise finished with a time of 23:17 while Boucher came across the line to a result of 23:21.
The Wildcats are back on the course Saturday, Oct. 12 as they travel to Franklin Park for the New England Championships in Boston, Mass. The race is set to begin at 12 p.m.
