New Hampshire Tops Boston College 2-1 In Overtime

Durham, NH. (AP)-- David Busch scored 36 seconds into overtime to give New Hampshire (8-2-1, 5-0-1) a 2-1 victory over Boston College (5-5-0, 3-4-0).

Busch took a terrific backhanded goal-mouth pass from Jim Abbott and beat Boston College goalie Tim Kelleher through the fivehole for the overtime win. The win moves New Hampshire into first place in Hockey East. New Hampshire won for the second time in overtime this year, as last week they topped Providence in overtime. Its the third straight game at the Whittemore Center that has gone into overtime, with New Hampshire winning two.

Boston College struck first when Jeff Farkas beat Ty Conklin from the slot to gain the 1-0 lead, early in the second period. New Hampshire came back to tie things at 1-1 when Abbott went blocker side for his third goal of the season.

Ty Conklin finished the game with fifteen saves for the Wildcats, Kelleher made twenty-five stops for the Eagles.
