Tiffany Verni joined the UNH coaching staff in July 2019 from the New York Institute of Technology.
In her time at NYIT, Tiffany earned a degree in Psychology, captained the volleyball team in its final season and became a dual athlete her senior year, when she was the first student-athlete to participate in a track and field event for NYIT after a 14-year absence of the program.
Tiffany was named NYIT Female Athlete of the Year her sophomore, junior and senior years, and capped her senior year by taking home the Patricia Burnside Award as top NYIT Female Student-Athlete of the Year, as well as the E.C.C. Award, which is the East Coast Conference’s most prestigious honor for Excellence in Community and Character. She was also an NCAA Woman of the Year nominee.
Delivering on her nomination as the 2018 East Coast Conference Preseason Player of the Year, Tiffany was voted the East Coast Conference Player of the Year and the ECAC Player of the Year at the conclusion of the 2018 regular season. She finished the regular season ranked third in the nation in kills (503), and 10th in both kills per set (4.41) and points per set (4.8).
Tiffany was named All-ECC First-Team three consecutive years. Her other accolades included All-East Region First Team and D2CCA.
She left her mark in the NYIT record books. In three years, Tiffany recorded 1,508 kills (fifth in program history), 4,367 attack attempts (third) and 281 total blocks (eighth). She set the program's single-season attack attempts record with 1,586 in ’18 to top the mark of 1,486 she established as junior. She tallied 503 kills as senior – No. 8 on the single-season list – and had personal-best 30 kills at Mercy on Sept. 25 2018, which ranks fourth in a single match in NYIT history.
In addition to her volleyball accolades, Tiffany was named All-Conference Second Team in both indoor and outdoor track and field in 2019.
A Long Island, N.Y., native, Tiffany was an assistant coach for four years at the Island Volleyball Academy (Oakdale, N.Y.), where she coached 17-18’s club teams from November 2015 through June 2019.
She also has experience in sports broadcasting, doing color commentary for collegiate volleyball matches for the Northeast 10 Conference Championships.
Tiffany is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Kinesiology: Sports Studies, while also being a TA in the Kinesiology Department.
