Eight 'Cats Named to CSC Football Academic All-District Team

DURHAM, N.H. – Eight student-athletes on the 2025 University of New Hampshire football team have been named to the College Sports Communicators 2025-26 Academic All-District Team.
The honored Wildcats are Tim Bonagura (Fremont, N.H.), Drew Danson (Wrentham, Mass.), Josh Fillion (Quebec City, Quebec), Matt Guidebeck (North Reading, Mass.), Ty Miles (Londonderry, N.H.), Jackson Stone (Lebanon, N.H.), Myles Thomason (Montclair, N.J.) and Matt Vezza (Elmhurst, Ill.).
The CSC Academic All-District Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Honorees must meet the minimum qualifications of a 3.50 or higher cumulative GPA and played in 90 percent of the team's games or started at least 66 percent of games.
All eight Wildcats have been named to the CAA Football Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll every semester as a Wildcat.
Thomason and Vezza were also named to the 2025 FCS Athletics Directors Association Academic All-Star Team.
The 2026 UNH football team, under the leadership of first-year head coach Sean Goldrich, plays its home opener Sept. 12 vs. Stonehill College and Homecoming is Oct. 3 vs. Elon University.

Bonagura, a senior defensive tackle, recorded a 3.91 GPA while completing his bachelor's degree and has a 4.00 GPA in pursuit of a Masters Business Administration. He played in all 13 games with six starts in the 2025 season. He recorded 31 total tackles, which included 3.5 tackles for a loss and a sack, with a split of 10 solo tackles and 21 assisted tackles. Bonagura's other stats included a fumble recovery, two pass breakups, and one quarterback hurry.
Danson, a junior tight end, has a 3.66 GPA while earning a degree in business administration: finance. He started 10 games and played all 13 games. Danson was primarily an extra blocker but he did have six catches for 39 yards.
Fillion, a junior wide receiver, is another business administration: finance major with a 3.68 GPA. He had 23 catches for 230 yards, including a long of 53 yards, and one touchdown in playing all 13 games with 10 starts.
Guidebeck, a sophomore punter who was also the holder on PAT kicks and field goals, has a 3.90 GPA as a business administration: finance major. He punted 36 times with an average of 41.1 yards. Guidebeck had seven punts of 50+ yards, including a long of 59 yards.
Miles, a sophomore offensive lineman, is a business administration major with a 3.72 GPA. He played in 12 of 13 games with two starts.
Stone, a junior safety, has a 3.50 GPA in pursuit of a business administration: finance degree. He recorded 22 tackles (11 solo, 11 assisted) with 2.5 tackles for loss, including a sack, and was also credited with a pass breakup.
Thomason, a senior running back who started every game, had a 3.66 GPA as a business administration: marketing major. He was UNH's top ground gainer with 193 rushes for 736 yards and four touchdowns for averages of 3.8 yards per carry and 56.6 rushing yards per game. Thomason ranked fifth in the CAA in rushes and eighth in rushing yards, as well as seventh in both all-purpose yards (1,229) and punt return average (12.9).
Thomason also ranked third on the team with 30 receptions for 233 yards and a TD. He was UNH's top punt returner with 18 returns for 233 yards – an average of 12.9 yards per return – and had one kickoff return for 27 yards. He averaged a team-high 94.5 all-purpose yards per game.
Vezza, a sophomore quarterback named to the 2025 CAA Football Third Team, had a 3.88 GPA in pursuit of an analytics and data science major. He took every snap at quarterback for the Wildcats in the 2025 season. Vezza completed 226 of 369 passes for 2,673 yards and 19 touchdowns with a 135.3 efficiency rating, and he also led the team with eight rushing touchdowns on 151 carries for 601 yards. He ranked third in the conference in passing yards and was fourth in TD passes.
Vezza threw for 1,277 yards and 12 touchdowns on a 66.2 completion percentage with a 162.2 rating as UNH closed the regular season on a five-game winning streak.
