Sophomore debuted on floor with a 9.850, helped Wildcats go 3-0 in two meets
WEIRTON, W. Va. – UNH sophomore Peyton Novinger (Hershey, Pa.) was named the EAGL Rookie Specialist of the Week for the first time in her career following her performance in two home meets in Week 10.
In a March 4 win against Southern Connecticut State at Lundholm Gym, Novinger made her college debut on floor exercise and delivered a 9.850 to share fourth place. The sophomore added a 9.750 on uneven bars for fifth.
During Sunday's Senior Day tri-meet victory against Bowling Green and George Washington in the Whittemore Center at Key Auto Group Complex, Novinger equaled her second-highest career bar score with a 9.775 to share fifth place, and she returned to the floor lineup with a 9.725 to earn a share of ninth.
Novinger's efforts helped UNH (18-3, 4-0 EAGL), the EAGL regular-season champions, register three victories to cap a 9-0 home record this season.
