Gymnast Mullin, Himes Win EAGL Weekly Awards

Mullin tabbed EAGL Gymnast of Week; Himes earns EAGL Specialist of Week award
WEIRTON, W. Va. – University of New Hampshire senior gymnast Serena Mullin (Hamden, Conn.) was named the EAGL Gymnast of the Week and senior Riley Himes (Orlando, Fla.) won the EAGL Specialist of the Week award for Week 5, as announced Wednesday by the league.
Mullin posted three wins at Yale in the all-around (39.225), bars (9.825) and floor (9.875) events. Later, at the home tri-meet, Mullin placed second in all-around (39.050) and tied for second on floor (9.875). She claimed five podium spots out of her eight events across the week. She also had back-to-back 39+ all-around totals (39.225 and 39.050).
Himes delivered back-to-back beam career high podiums; second at Yale (9.800) then tied for second at home with a 9.850. The senior was also the lead off beam lineup during the season-high 49.050 rotation.
With the nomination, Himes took home her first career EAGL Specialist of the Week win, while Mullins earned her fourth career EAGL Gymnast of the Week award and second of the season. This season, Mullin is ranked second in the all-around, second on uneven bars, and first on floor exercise in the EAGL Conference.
