Moore was a part of two school records on the week
BOSTON – Freshman Sarah Moore (Lisbon, Maine) of the University of New Hampshire women's track and field team has been named both the America East Female Field Athlete and Rookie of the Week for her record-setting performance at the George Davis Invitational on April 19.
This is Moore's third and fourth America East weekly awards as she was named the indoor Track Field Athlete and Rookie of the Week on Dec. 10.
Moore broke two school records. She set a school record in the long jump with a leap of 6.29 meters (20' 7.75") at the George Davis Invitational. She broke the school record of 18' 9.75" that was set by senior Olivia Chamberlain (Warnerville, N.Y.) in 2024. Also her jump of 6.30 meters (20' 8"), which was not wind legal for the school record, won the event and ranks first in the conference. She is also tied for 32nd in the nation and tied for fifth in the country for the long jump by freshmen.
Then she anchored the 4x100-meter relay team that broke the school record in a time of 46.85 seconds to place first. The previous record was 47.22 set in 2015.
The Wildcats return to action on Saturday, April 26, when they travel to UMass for the Pre-Conference Invitational.
