'Cats Win 7 Events, Break 2 School Records at George Davis Invitational

RESULTS
LOWELL, Mass. - The University of New Hampshire women's track and field team closed out the George Davis Invitational in dominant fashion, winning seven events and breaking two school records on Saturday.
Freshman Sarah Moore (Lisbon, Maine) set the tone with a record-breaking leap of 6.29 meters (20 feet, 7.75 inches) to win the long jump. Moore also anchored the 4x100-meter relay team, alongside freshman Mariam Nada (Portsmouth, N.H.), freshman Eva Roberts (Derry, N.H.), and sophomore Audrey Thornton (Freedom, N.H.), which captured first place and set a new school record with a time of 46.85 seconds.
Moore broke the school record of 18' 9.75 set by senior Olivia Chamberlain (Warnerville, N.Y.) in 2024. The previous record in the 4x100-meter relay was 47.22 set in 2015 by Virginia Lavallee, Lauren Perrodin, Sydney Kay and Danielle Gajewski.
UNH also claimed victories in both the 800-meter and 3,000-meter runs. Freshman Mia Carbone (Meriden, Conn.) clocked in at 2:15.67 to win the 800, while freshman Ruth White (Orono, Maine) took the 3,000 in 9:48.92.
Graduate student Gabby Deangelis (Bedford, N.H.) added a win in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at 10:58.28. The Wildcats capped the day with a win in the 4x400-meter relay. The team of junior Liliana Chirichella (Troy, N.H.), sophomore Jules Hickey (Pawling, N.Y.), sophomore Emily Williams (Sudbury, Mass.), and senior Autumn Agri (Stratham, N.H.) finished in 4:04.71.
In the field events, sophomore Briana Danis (Hooksett, N.H.) won the discus throw with a mark of 45.27 meters (148 feet, 6.28 inches).
