Jones Earns 1st in Hammer, 2nd in Shot Put at George Davis Invitational

LOWELL, Mass. - Sophomore Ronnie Jones (Lowell, Mass.) led the University of New Hampshire women's track and field team on day one of the George Davis Invitational with a first-place finish in the hammer throw.
Jones recorded a personal best of 50.28 meters and added a second place showing in the shot put with a mark of 12.12 meters.
At the Virginia Challenge, senior Claire Ronan (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) placed 25th in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:36.69 while competing against a deep field that featured athletes from the Big Ten, Big East, ACC and other top conferences.
The Wildcats return to action tomorrow to wrap up competition at the George Davis Invitational.
