Freshman set personal-best scores on vault, all-around & tied career-high on uneven bars
WEIRTON, W. Va. – For a conference-leading eighth time this season, UNH freshman gymnast Aine Reade (Merrimac, Mass.) has been named the EAGL Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday.
On Saturday night at No. 19 Nebraska, Reade set a career high on vault (9.850) to share first in that event, set a personal best in all-around (39.250) to tie for second place, equaled her PB on uneven bars (9.775, T-5th) for the second straight week and tied for the team's top score on floor exercise (9.875, T-3rd) to headline the Wildcats' season-best score of 195.525.
The Merrimac, Mass., native is EAGL's No. 1 rookie and No. 4 overall in all-around (38.665 National Qualifying Score), and she is the top-ranked rookie and No. 3 in the conference on floor exercise (9.860 NQS).
Reade has earned the Rookie of the Week honor in eight of the first 10 weeks of the East Atlantic Gymnastics League season.
