UNH Trio Named NFHCA Scholars of Distinction

MANAHAWKIN, N.J. – Junior Brecken Calcari (St. Louis, Mo.) and freshmen Makayla Clark (Evanston, Ill.) and Megan Marthins (Haddonfield, N.J.) of the University of New Hampshire field hockey team have been named to the 2024 NFHCA Division I Scholars of Distinction list.
These three Wildcats were among the more than 275 outstanding undergraduate student-athletes from over 70 institutions who achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.9 or higher through the fall 2024 semester.
Calcari has received this prestigious accolade all three years.
Calcari, Clark and Marthins were three of the 11 Wildcats who were recently named to the 2024 NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad, which recognizes field hockey players with a 3.50 or higher cumulative GPA.
UNH finished the 2024 season as runner-up in both the America East regular-season standings and conference tournament. A Wildcat earned All-America Team accolades for the third consecutive year, and that same 'Cat repeated as America East Offensive Player of the Year. UNH also boasted two other NFHCA All-Region Team selections and the conference Rookie of the Year.
