Chertock Takes Home Third Consecutive America East Rookie of the Week Award

With the honor, Chertock has now won Rookie of the Week five times this season
BOSTON — University of New Hampshire freshman outside hitter Lucy Chertock (Danville, Calif.) was named America East Rookie of the Week on Tuesday, Oct. 28.
Chertock was a key piece on offense for the Wildcats this week, totaling 20 kills across seven sets against UAlbany (Oct. 24) and NJIT (Oct. 26), averaging 2.86 kills per set. Additionally, Chertock produced three service aces alongside three assists for the Wildcats. On defense, Chertock managed nine digs (1.29 digs/assist) and four block assists, in total producing 25 points (3.57 points/set).
With the recognition, Chertock earns America East Rookie of the Week for a school-record fifth time this season and marks her sixth weekly award overall, previously winning the award alongside America East Player of the Week on Sept. 3 while also winning top rookie honors on Sept. 30, Oct. 14, and Oct. 21. With the win, Chertock stands alone with the most Rookie of the Week awards in a season for a Wildcat, passing Kara Oxenknecht, who won the award four times in 2022.
