Gorgenyi Repeats as EAGL Gymnast of the Week

Graduate student set career high on floor and won fourth all-around in five meets
TOWSON, Md. – Graduate student Kylie Gorgenyi (North Reading, Mass.) of the University of New Hampshire gymnastics team won her second straight EAGL Gymnast of the Week award, the East Atlantic Gymnastics League announced Wednesday.
At Sunday's Stick It for the Cure meet in the Whittemore Center at Key Auto Group Complex, Gorgenyi tallied a personal-best 9.925 on floor exercise, tying for first place and equaling the third-highest floor score in program history. The North Reading, Mass., native won her fourth all-around championship (39.275) in the first five meets of the season to lead the Wildcats to a season-high 195.875. Gorgenyi's four podiums included two third-place ties (vault, uneven bars, 9.850), and she registered UNH's high score on three of the four events.
For the season, Gorgenyi is ranked No. 1 in EAGL in all-around (39.110 AVG), No. 5 on vault (9.805 AVG), No. 3 on bars (9.870 AVG) and No. 3 on floor (9.855 AVG).

NEXT HOME MEET – SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 25 – 2 P.M. • SENIOR DAY
•The UNH gymnastics team honors its senior class in its Senior Day quad meet versus Fisk, Rhode Island College and Southern Connecticut State on Sunday, Feb. 25 (2 p.m.) in the Whittemore Center at Key Auto Group Complex. It will be a Celebration of Girls & Women in Sports with the first 200 fans in attendance receiving a free Wildcat headband. For tickets, visit UNHWildcats.com/Tickets or call 603-862-4000.
